5 Points to Ponder on Part-time (Full time?) Jobs

Part-time jobs are extremely common nowadays. School children as young as 10, college students, working adults and the retirees are working part-time to support oneself in one way or the other. Some may want to gain experience, some as extra pocket money, others may see it as an opportunity to grow oneself. Below are some of the points to ponder on part-time jobs. Or maybe on full time jobs as well? Read on.

Point #1: Think of It as An Opportunity to Learn New Skills
Any job that you do, there is always abundant opportunity to learn something. Consider working part-time as a chance to expand one's knowledge and skills - at no cost at all! Think of pocket money as a bonus to all that instead of the ONLY thing. Many of us would frown immediately at the low salary range before even considering the job scope. Now, imagine if we were to think the other way around? Some may even find that they became so proficient at what they do and decided to work there full time or even start-up their own business related to that. Futures will be changed instantly. All these and more by merely changing our perspective on part-time jobs. Incredible isn't it?

Point #2: Never Ever be A Slacker
A slacker or someone who avoid working will reflect badly on yourself and your company/organisation that you are working for. Once the employer hire you to work even part-time, they expect the best from you. Most employers greatly appreciate individuals who are willing to work hard. And guess what's the best you can get out of it? Yup, you've guessed it - full time employment! You will then be given extra training and equiping yourself with new skills. Best part is, you don't have to push hard for this - just avoid being a slacker and willing to work hard. It's that simple!

Point #3: Never Allow Yourself to be the Person No One is Happy to See Showed Up
In other words, don't be the "black sheep" of the company/organisation you worked with. Make sure you do your work and only your work. No one else's. Even if you're 100% certain you can do their job. You will be branded a "busybody". However, you ought to help when you see someone is in need for help. Simple example: You see a colleague carrying several boxes of equipments walking towards the door. Your reaction: OPEN the door for him! Make sure you are prepared to help others but not before handling all your own work first. This practice will go a long way towards full time employment.

Point #4: Keep In Mind that Each Job Has a Purpose
Even the smallest tasks of a job are necessary for proper performance. The better you are at this job, the more it will be noticed and appreciated. This will summed up your reputation to your boss and fellow colleagues as the "reliable" person. And when better positions are available in the company, where do bosses turn to? THAT reliable person. And the general rule of thumb, better positions means better pay, and a tremendous opportunity to be employed full time. See how it's related? Amazing, huh?

Point #5: Watch What the Successful People Are Doing
Copy all successful people. Copy your best colleague. Copy your supervisor. Copy your division manager. Copy your head of department. Copy your boss. Copy Tony Fernandes. You get the idea. If you follow these traits carefully, these are the formula of success. These people have implanted the word success firmly all over their forehead heart that by simply copying their actions will lead your somewhere. Once you have learned this, it is a lesson that you can carry with you throughout your life. Hence, you can also carry this to your full time working environment.
